Feranando was this week welcomed to the Cats by club president Simon Ritchie, who said the talented all-rounded would be a great asset to the club.

“He (Feranando) comes to us having played with Brierly Christ Church last season where he won the club’s batting aggregate and average awards and he also won the club’s division one Cricketer of the Year, along with the division one Champion Player, Ritchie said.

“We’re really looking forward to seeing what he can bring to our club and to our division one side.”

In just 16 matches last season, Feranando made 599 runs, with his highest score an impressive 110.

He also took 22 wickets for the season, with a bowling average of 16.77 (and best figures of 5/16).

Cats division one captain Todd Lamont is also excited to have Feranando on board and is looking forward to the 2024/25 season.

“Chamika is a talented left-hand opening batsman and will no doubt be a huge asset for us,” Lamont said.

“We’re lacking batting depth at the moment so this signing is great. The fact that he’s also a right arm off spin bowler is a bonus for us.”
