Market heads to Cobden Wednesday, 08 February 2012 00:00
THE Progressive Farmers’ Market will travel to Cobden’s Apex Park this Sunday.
Organisers and stallholders are crossing their fingers the rain will stay away and clear skies will attract large crowds to the event.
This Sunday’s market looks set to offer something for everyone, with a wide range of culinary orientated producers ready to show off their wares.
Some new additions to the market this weekend will include heirloom vegetable growers and caramelised nuts.
This month the Progressive Farmers’ Market will focus on healthy eating and staff from South West Health Care will be on hand to conduct free blood glucose tests and to give away drink bottles.
Free fruit, supplied by Barlings Fruit and Veg, will also be handed out to market goers who take the time to answer some questions about the market.
And especially for the youngest of market visitors there will be a free air castle which will keep children entertained for hours.
A craft market will be set up adjacent to the farmers’ market and members of Cobden’s Rotary Club will provide catering on the day.
The market will run from 9.30am until 1pm.
