Alvie too strong for Tigers
SIMPSON’S senior footballers had a tough day on Saturday, going down by 74 points to Alvie at the Simpson Recreation Reserve.

The third-placed Alvie team dominated every quarter in its 15.4.94 to 2.8.20 win.
Defender Zac Anderson and veterans Brenton De Jong and Brad Salmon were Simpson’s best, with Isaac Holland and Brayden Hawkes kicking a goal each.
This week the Tigers play the Western Eagles at Irrewillipe.
In the reserves, Alvie scored a 41 point win, 10.8.68 to 4.3.27.
David Weel, Shaun Guy and Luke Hutton were Simpson’s best in the loss.
Darcy Thorburn and captain Harry Fleming kicked two goals each.
In the under 18s, Alvie had a 7.5.47 to 1.2.8 win.
Nate Sambell, Zane Potter and Noah Clark were Simpson’s best, with Bodhi Crole kicking the lone goal.
In the under 15 football, Simpson took the points with a 6.6.42 to 0.3.3 win.
Jed Spokes, Samuel Blain and Noah Deppeler were best for the Tigers.
Spokes kicked three goals and Blain two in the win.
The under 12 game saw Alvie have a 10.8.68 to 4.1.25 win.
Goals for the junior Tigers came from Kaiden Teal, Thomas Vines, Kade Mason and Chase McCallum.
In the A grade netball, Simpson lost 45-41 to fourth-placed Alvie.
Best for Simpson were Shelby Cameron, Sophie Taylor and Milah Crole.
Goal attack Eliza Duynhoven scored 23 goals, with goal shooter Jessie Harding scoring 16.
Alvie got the points in the B grade netball with a 43-35 win.
Best for Simpson were Claudia Richardson, Melissa Drayton and Tahlia Daniels, with Drayton scoring 20 goals and Kayla Hallyburton 15.
Simpson had a 33-29 win in the C grade game.
Best for Simpson were Hayley Weel, Kayla Hallyburton and Kara Tyrer, with Hallyburton scoring 16 goals.
In D grade, Simpson had a 27-18 win.
Best for the Tigers were Leesa Seabrook, Isabelle Robertson and Kellie Meade, with Brianna Ferrari shooting 14 goals.
The 17 and under match saw Alvie have a 42-20 win.
Shayla Daniels, Gabby Montano and Esha Crole were Simpson’s best, with Kaylee Jansen scoring 10 goals.
Simpson scored a 43-13 win in the 15 and under netball.
Kustom Robertson scored 20 goals and Tara Robertson 11, with both players named in the Tigers best along with Keisha McVilly.
Alvie got the points in the 13 and under game with a 51-9 win.
Nyha Ford, Alexis Barake and Sophia Paterson/Stanley were Simpson’s best, with Mia Arndell scoring four goals.
