Bloods in interleague training squad
TERANG Mortlake junior footballers Charlie Kenna, Josh Slater, Max Heffernan and Hamish Molan have been named in Hampden League’s initial under 17 interleague training squad.
The initial training squad, announced late last week, is for next month’s under 17 interleague battle against Ballarat Football Netball League.
Hampden’s coaching staff have selected a training squad of 30, with each of the 10 affiliate clubs represented.
The interleague match will be played on July 5 as a curtain-raiser for the under 23 Clinton Baulch Cup.
The team will have two training sessions in the lead-up to the interleague clash.
These sessions will be held on Tuesday, July 1 at Victoria Park, Koroit, and the second at Reid Oval on July 3.
The final team will be selected after the second training session.
Along with the four Bloods, the initial squad also comprises the following.
Cobden – Oliver Rial and Edmund Walsh.
Camperdown – Albie Cheeseman, Ned Molan and Lenny Stephens.
Hamilton – Jack Sobey, Hunter Van Someren and Matthew Calvert.
Koroit – Mack Mills, Hamish Dobson, Dan Ewin, Moss McInerney, Austin Lloyd and Will Morrison.
North Warrnambool – Ed Northeast.
Port Fairy – Max Clancey.
Portland – Jett Lovell, Jake Payne and Klay Nicholls.
South Warrnambool – Sam Conboy, Mason Osborne and Leo Ellerton.
Warrnambool – Archie Poumako, Rhys Wallace, Harrison Barnes and Finn Parkinson.
