COBDEN is taking a whole club approach to a new meaning this season.

The club recently announced the senior football netball body will provide annual funding for the junior football netball body in a bid to give their upcoming stars greater opportunities.

This year’s donation will be $10,000 with further donations to be made up to $10,000 each year, with the funding aimed to strengthen the ties of the two clubs.

The yearly funding will see the junior footballers and netballers receive opportunities they would not normally get, with a number of exciting ideas in the pipeline.

President Darren Mounsey said the senior body was committed to the promotion of junior football and netball.

“We want to support our junior body as much as we can because they are an integral part of the club as a whole,” he said.

“The senior club wants to do all they can to continue the success of the junior club.”

Junior president Wayne Robertson welcomed the senior club’s commitment.

“From a junior perspective, we are really excited about what opportunities the funding creates to develop our juniors,” he said.

“But more importantly, it’s not only about making them good on the sporting field but developing them as good citizens.”
