Bragging rights on the line

WITH Camperdown Magpies Bowling Club’s division one pennant team having last weekend off due to the previous week’s double header, the spotlight turned to other divisions – and they didn’t disappoint.

The Magpies division two (2) team competed against Cressy at the Golf Green and they showed they will be a force this season with a solid 121-65 win.

In very windy conditions, Peter Reilly’s rink of Andrew Anderson, Greg Molan and Les Pearson handled the conditions perfectly to record a 39-16 win over John Nelson’s rink.

Fred Salmon’s rink of Leanne Fitzgerald, Harry Van Someren and Greg Edwards just failed to get over the line, losing to John Spry’s rink 22-26.

Michael Brebner’s rink of Vicki Brebner, John O’Donohue and Brad Wilson had a 32-10 win over Neville Keating’s rink.

Darren Coverdale’s rink of John Molan, Keira Johnston and Kell Edwards finished the day with a 28-13 win over John Carew’s rink.

Darren Page’s rink of Steve Lucas, Jim Boyd and Pip Robertson had a close one, going down 18-19 against Mick Menzies’ rink.
