The Campdraft, which was first held five years ago and has since doubled in size, was once again a huge success thanks to the work of a small band of committee members from the West Vic Australian Stockhorse Branch (based at Hexham).

Under the guidance of club president Damien Teal, volunteers ran another smooth two-day event.

Organisers paid tribute to local businesses who sponsored the event, along with local farmers who donated the use of their cattle for the weekend.

Twelve different events (including maiden, junior and open) were hotly contested across the weekend, with 740 first round runs.

Competitors travelled from far and wide, including riders from as far afield as South Australia and Queensland.

At the conclusion of the event, Queensland’s Brett Welsh was announced the Champion title winner.
