FIREFIGHTERS were quick to bring a fire under control which saw a tractor completely engulfed in flames Wednesday afternoon.

Boorcan Country Fire Authority (CFA) member Nick Haywood said the blaze was reported at about 2pm on a Boorcan property.

“We were first on the scene and we were quickly followed by Camperdown, Bostocks Creek and Cobrico units,” he said.

“Camperdown had a breathing apparatus equipped member and he got up close in the smoke to put the fire out.

“It took about five minutes to extinguish.”

Mr Haywood said the cause of the fire was unknown.

“The owner noticed smoke coming from under the bonnet,” he said.

“He tried to extinguish it with the onboard fire extinguisher before calling CFA.

“It (the tractor) was a complete write off.”

Lost cause: The tractor was a complete write off, luckily the owner was not injured in the blaze.
