CFA’s new training prop
CAMPERDOWN’S CFA brigade will be using a new training prop at the Camperdown fire station this month.
CFA training: The prop will be used to train CFA members in small industrial fires and gas bottle fires.
CAMPERDOWN’S CFA brigade will be using a new training prop at the Camperdown fire station this month.
Brigades from around the area will also make bookings top use the prop.
The prop imitates a small industry fire with a machine and a gas bottle fire.
Secretary, treasurer and communications officer Bernie Sinnott advised residents there will be only a flame, with no smoke.
“There won’t be smoke or anything; we can control the height of the flame,” he said.
“We’re training members to learn how to suppress an industrial fire, or a fire in a structure.”
