Charges pending following altercation
CHARGES are pending following an altercation at the Commercial Hotel in Camperdown on Friday night.
Corangamite Senior Sergeant Bill Caldow said police were called to the incident, which involved the victim and two offenders.
“At the Commercial Hotel on Friday night at approximately 11.45pm, the victim got into a dispute around the poker machines with two other persons,” he said.
“An argument occurred, and it got to the point where there was pushing and shoving.
“The victim was slapped around the head, and then the victim was against an adult mother and son.
“One of the offenders punched the victim to the head repeatedly and he was also slapped.
“The parties were separated, but one of the offenders broke hold and there was a second incident.”
Snr Sgt Caldow said no major injuries were suffered in relation to the matter.
“The matter was followed up later the same day – on Saturday, May 31 – and parties have been interviewed and charged in relation to the matter.
“Further investigation has taken place, and charges are pending.”
