Close games on the tables
THREE close matches highlighted round three table tennis action in Terang.
Young at Heart prevailed over Nelson, winning 3-2.
The doubles match decided this outcome with Colin Venn and Pat Nicholson winning in straight games against Trevor McDowell and sub Brad Burkit.
Trevor, the number one player of the competition, won both his singles with Colin and Pat winning a singles game each.
Lefties achieved their first win against Rob Markable with a 3-2 scoreline.
Lefties won the doubles with Leanne McDowell and Ian Rochfort winning a singles match each.
Mark Smith won both his singles games.
Whilst The Unknowns won 4-1 against Snapper@Crofts.
This was by far the closest contest of the night, with four matches being decided in five games and the other in four.
Sub Peter Mania had his best night in Terang, winning all his matches for the first time.
First, he won his battle with Paul Healey 14-12, 11-9, 5-11, 6-11, 11-8.
Against Vesha Chapagai he won 9-11, 11-8, 6-11, 11-9, 11-5.
Peter combined with Michael Pearson to win 11-8, 5-11, 11-6, 2-11, 11-8.
Vesha defeated Michael 2-11, 11-7, 12-14, 11-6, 11-9.
With one match still to be completed, the ladder has The Unknowns and Young at Heart on eight points, Lefties, Total Tools, Snapper@Crofts and Nelson on four points, with Rob Markable yet to have a win.
