Close games on the tables

ANOTHER round of close matches highlighted round four of the Terang Table Tennis season.


Whilst The Unknowns won 4-1 against Lefties; four of the five rubbers went to the fifth game and the other went to the fourth game.

Paul Healey, subbing for the Unknowns, had a great night being triumphant in all his singles matches and winning in the fifth game.

Firstly, he defeated Ian Rochfort 5-11, 11-3, 11-8, 5-11, 11-8.

Against teammate Vesha Chapagai, who was also subbing, he prevailed coming from 0-2 down to win 5-11, 9-11, 11-7, 13-11, 13-11.

Michael Pearson also won his two singles games, the closet match was against Vesha winning 11-5, 8-11, 14-12, 12-10, 11-9.

For the Lefties they won the doubles in five games.

Rob Markable had their first win defeating Nelson 3-2.

Rob Herry and Mark Smith won a singles each and combined to win the doubles.

Trevor McDowell once again won all his singles for Nelson.

Young at Heart held off Total Tools to win 3-2.

Colin Venn and Pat Nicholson won a singles each and the doubles to see their side across the line.

Tyler Smith won both his singles including his first win over Colin in five games 10-12, 11-10, 8-11, 11-7, 11-7.
