Cobden forum draws a crowd
COBDEN’S future development potential was on the agenda at a community forum last month.
Landowners, developers, businesses and interested residents were invited to attend the session, with between 30-40 people attending.
A line-up of guest speakers shared knowledge about the property market, how to bring land forward for development, State Government initiatives, and the Cobden Structure Plan and other local planning issues.
Cobden Business network also shared the results of a recent member survey on their top priorities.
An update on the new ways Cobden aerodrome was being protected in the planning scheme was also discussed.
Presenters included Davina Pickles and Alistair Tune from Ray White Camperdown, Cath Jenkins from Cobden Business Network, Ample Investments director Gareth Bellchambers, and Aaron Moyne, Kevin Hazell and Justine Linley from Corangamite Shire Council.
Shire mayor Kate Makin was pleased with how the session went.
“It was a great evening,” she said.
“It was really informative and building on the work council has done around strategic planning for the town.”
