Cobden Through the Lens returns
FOLLOWING the success of the inaugural exhibition last year, photographers of all ages are being encouraged to start capturing the moments, places and stories which make Cobden unique, with Progressing Cobden’s Cobden Through the Lens returning for 2026.
The inaugural exhibition showcased the talent, creativity and unique perspectives of photographers from across the district, attracting strong community support and producing a stunning visual collection of local landscapes, people and places.
Building on this success, the 2026 exhibition will once again celebrate the stories, scenery and character of Cobden and district through the lens of local photographers.
Progressing Cobden president Misty Angus said the exhibition would provide an opportunity for both experienced photographers and first-time entrants to share their perspective of the community.
“Last year’s exhibition demonstrated just how much photographic talent exists within the community,” she said.
“We were delighted with both the quality and variety of entries, and we’re excited to see what people capture for 2026.
“Some of the most memorable photographs come from unexpected moments, changing seasons and everyday scenes that might otherwise go unnoticed.
“By encouraging people to start snapping now – we’re giving photographers the opportunity to build a collection of images that truly reflect the character and beauty of Cobden and district.”

The 2026 exhibition will feature a range of categories designed to encourage participation from all ages and interests, including landscapes and nature, community life, heritage and history, agriculture and rural life, atmospheric and open creative.
Dedicated youth categories will also provide opportunities for young photographers to showcase their creativity, with categories for preschool (four-five years), junior (six-12 years) and senior (13-17 years).
Awards will include the judge’s choice award, community choice award and category awards.
Whether using a professional camera, compact camera or mobile phone, photographers are encouraged to start capturing images now in preparation for the exhibition.
Exhibition dates, venue details and entry information will be announced later in the year.
