Comfortable win for the Bulls
POMBORNEIT scored a comfortable eight wicket win over Woorndoo in the round four Colac-South West premier cricket match last weekend.

Bulls skipper Grant Place won the toss and sent the Tigers in to bat first at Woorndoo Recreation Reserve.
The home team struggled to put partnerships together and were dismissed for 92 in the 36th over.
Lahiru Fernando took 4/9 from 9.5 overs of tight bowling, while Roshen Fernando took 2/21 from eight.
Tom Darcy and Finn Tolland took a wicket each, with gun fielder Josh Place effecting two run outs.
“Our bowling performance was really pleasing,” Bulls skipper Grant Place said.
“Everyone bowled tight, while we were up and about in the field.”
In reply, Pomborneit made short work of the run chase, passing the home team’s score in the 19th over for the loss of two wickets.
Josh Place made an unbeaten 39 from 56 balls including four fours and six to guide the Bulls home.
“Josh has started the season well with the bat, it feels like he has taken the next step in his development.”
This week the Bulls host Stoneyford in a big match at the Pomborneit Recreation Reserve.
“Stoneyford has been a strong team for a long time and has recruited well this season, it’s a game we are really looking forward to.”
The division two match went down to the last ball of the day, a tie the result.
Cobden batted first in the match at South Purrumbete and were bowled out in the 37th over for 140.
Stephen Hill led the Bulls bowlers with 4/34 from eight overs, with skipper Charlie Voutier taking 3/16 from five.
Pomborneit struggled to score early but then gained some momentum through the middle overs.
With one ball remaining in the game, the Bulls, nine wickets down, need two to win.
A hit into the outfield saw the Pomborneit batsmen run one before a run out occurred going for the second, the game ending on a 140 tie.
Fletcher Tolland impressed with 39 from 61 balls with two fours and two sixes.
Skipper Charlie Voutier made 27 from 71 balls, while Luke Reynolds made 25.
The division three match saw the first Pomborneit v Pomborneit match at senior men’s level since the final season of the former Timboon/Stoneyford competition in 1995/96.
Gold batted first and made 141 after being dismissed in the 33rd over.
Stephen Walters top scored with 41 from 51 balls while Steve Murphy made 38 from 53.
Maroon’s bowling was led by junior player Hugo Saarikallio who took 4/34 from seven overs on his senior debut.
Bailey Fox and skipper Donnie McInnes took two wickets each.
Maroon got off to a strong start and challenged all the way, only falling five runs short, all out for 136 in the 38th over.
Craig Boyd hit 26 from 23 balls, while fellow opener Garry Riches made 24 from 32.
Other top scorers were Mark McInnes with 24 from 59, Bailey Thorburn with 20 from 15 and Bailey Fox with 19 from 61.
Tony Evans with 5/24 and Stephen Walters with 3/8 from eight overs did the bulk of the damage with the ball for the Gold team.
This week’s games see the division two Bulls playing Ecklin at Ecklin, while in division three Gold play Cobden at Camperdown number two and Maroon host Ecklin at South Purrumbete.
