Cool conditions for golf
COOL but rain-free conditions greeted golfers at the Cobden course last Wednesday, June 18.
A stableford competition was contested by nine players and won by Jeannine White with 37 points.
The runner-up was Sherine Healey on 35 points.
Nearest the pins: A grade – 4th Ellen Darcy, 10th Carmel Darcy; B grade – 4th and 10th Jeannine White; C grade – 10th Kate Parlour; 7th Ellen Darcy; second shot to the 8th (B grade) Pat Tickner.
Balls down the line went to Di McKenzie on 33 points.
Seventeen players competed in the left-handers v right-handers competition on Wednesday, June 11.
The left-handers finished on 26.6 points, just ahead of the right-handers on 25.75.
The A grade winner was Mark Loving, 31 stableford points, on countback from Ulbe Twynstra on 31.
B grade was won by Netty Hose on 32, followed by Jo Hintum on 27.
Nearest the pins: A grade – 4th Sandra Mason; B grade – 4th Deb Ferrari, 10th Marie Smith; C grade – 4th Jo Hintum, 10th Julie Simmonds; 7th Ulbe Twynstra; second shot Ellen Darcy (A grade).
Ellen Darcy also won a ball down the line.
