Demons rattle undefeated Creek
THE round eight Warrnambool and District senior football match at Timboon on Saturday saw the home team fall just four points short of the unbeaten Russells Creek.
The Demons led until late in the game, with the visitors kicking the last two goals to record a 9.5.59 to 7.13.55 win.
Jack Matthews, Lyndon Alsop, Jack McGlade, Bradley Gillingham, William Benallack and Ash Hunt were best for the Demons, with Tarkyn Love kicking three goals.
The reserves match saw Russells Creek score a 10.4.64 to 5.7.37 win.
Zeth Kerr, Ben Matthews and Kyle Delaney were best for the Demons, with Zach Lenehan, Ned Deppeler, Leroy Steere, Darcy Tribe and Cody Noonan kicking a goal each.
Timboon’s under 18.5 team had a 46 point loss, 11.5.71 to 4.1.25.
Rory Roberts, Joshua McKenzie and Thomas Ryan were best for the Demons, with Ronan Kerr, Zane Potter, Caius Cuthell and Harvey Redshaw kicking a goal each.
The under 16 game saw Russells Creek record a 9.10.64 to 2.5.17 win.
Alby Jones, William Spokes and Riley Stephens were the Demons best, with Jones and Spokes kicking a goal each.
In the under 13.5 game, Russells Creek had a 1.5.11 to 1.3.9 win.
Darcy Delaney, Lenny Champion, Fletcher Hickey and Nicholas Whitehead were best for the junior Demons, with Lenny Champion kicking the goal.
Russells Creek took out the A grade netball with a 52-37 win.
Amy Kavenagh, Laura Rosolin and Holly Delaney were the best for the Demons in the loss, Rosolin shooting 20 goals and Brianna Gass 8.
The A reserve game saw Timboon score a strong 54-34 win.
Kira Gordon, Hannah Maxwell and Giaan Gration were the Demons best, with Macy Gale shooting 28 goals and Maxwell 25.
Russells Creek scored a 46-27 win in the B grade netball.
Jorja Nieuwenhuizen, Rachel Newey and Stella Smith were best for Timboon, with Sarah Brown shooting 14 goals and Nieuwenhuizen eight.
The 17 and under netball saw Russells Creek get the points with a 27-21 win.
Best for Timboon were Taya Hanegraaf, Asha Loughnan and Meg Duro, with Ella Drayton scoring eight goals and Jasmine Plozza seven.
Timboon had a 41-25 win in the 15 and under game.
Elise Quarrell, Imogen Woods and Emily McLennan were the Demons best, with Hollick scoring 18 goals, Imogen Woods 12 and Indii McKenzie 11.
The 13 and under game saw Timboon have a 26-12 win.
Best for the Demons were Thea Whitehead, Brenna Redshaw and Isla Davis, with Elizabeth Plozza shooting 13 goals and Grace Richardson nine.
Timboon had a 14-6 win in the 11 and under game.
Isla Lenehan, Kyah Collins and Lexi Collins were best for the junior Demons, with Gretel Hollick shooting seven goals and Isla Lenehan six.
This week Timboon’s teams travel to the Walter Oval to play South Rovers.
