LISMORE Derrinallum will be well represented at this weekend’s first round of Mininera League finals.

The Demons’ senior footballers will face Penshurst in Saturday’s qualifying match while the reserves will hit the ground on Sunday to contest the elimination final against Wickliffe Lake Bolac.

On the netball courts, the Demons’ 13 and under side will face Glenthompson Dunkeld in Sunday’s elimination final and the 18 and unders will play Ararat, also on Sunday.

The club’s B grade side will take on Tatyoon on Sunday while the C grade team finished on top of the ladder and have earnt the week off.

Saturday’s qualifying rounds will be played at Caramut while Sunday’s elimination finals will be played at Lake Bolac.

The Demons’ senior footballers will head into Saturday’s qualifier full of confidence, coming off a creditable 55-point last round win over Hawkesdale Macarthur.

The Eagles, who finished the home and away season in fourth spot, have shown good form throughout the season but failed to rattle the Demons last Saturday.

By the main break, the Demons had a commanding 17-point lead which was extended to 49-points by three quarter time.

Final scores were Lismore Derrinallum 16.9.105 to Hawkesdale Macarthur 8.2.50.

Lachie Constable kicked six majors for the day and was well supported by Jack McCallum, Liam Rigby and Bradley Ward with two each.

James Halloran, Bradley Schiltz and Blake Scott also kicked a goal apiece.

Listed among the best were Henry Walsh, Halloran, Jack Pitts, Will Langley and Bailey Austin.

Lismore Derrinallum’s reserves also celebrated a final round win, defeating the Eagles by 27 points, 9.9.63 to 5.6.36.

Ryan Jeffrey was a stand-out with eight goals, while Todd Lamont, Sebastian Smith, Riley Browne (one goal), Robbie McGavin and Ryan Marquand were also named in the best.

Round 16 netball results for the Demons:

B grade – Hawkesdale Macarthur defeated Lismore Derrinallum 31-30. Best: Rachel Vagg and Jessica Miller.

C grade – Lismore Derinallum defeated Hawkesdale Macarthur 28-17. Best: Emily Murray and Jaala Perkins.

18 and under – Lismore Derrinallum defeated Hawkesdale Macarthur 40-21. Best: Stella Horspole.

15 and under – Lismore Derrinallum defeated Hawkesdale Macarthur 14-13.

13 and under – Lismore Derrinallum defeated Hawkesdale Macarthur 17-9.
