THERE’S a buzz around the Simpson netball courts this week as three senior sides prepare for finals.
Senior coach Paige Salmon said her sides were “super stoked” to make the 2022 finals series, with both A and B grades finishing the home and away season in fifth, and D grade in fourth.
“To have three of our four senior sides make finals is just incredible,” Salmon said.
“We’re all super stoked and I could not be prouder of them all. We have trained as a squad all year, and we had a great pre-season, and now that has paid off."
“We’re all really excited and looking forward to what this weekend brings. Hopefully we can go deep into finals and even bring home a flag or three.”
Salmon said the Tigers’ A grade side has been “hugely different” to last season, with many players having children or unavailable for other reasons, but new players had fitted in well.
“Hayley Coulson is new to our club this year and she has slotted in perfectly, and Hayley Pouw returned this season after a short stint away so that’s been great to have her back,” Salmon said.
“We have a lovely group of girls and it’s been a fun season for us all – and making the finals is the icing on the cake."
“Finals is a whole new ball game so it will be exciting to see how far we can all go. Simpson is a great place to be; our club is very much a part of the community and we hope to do our supporters, sponsors and community proud.”
