Falls remain below average
THE region saw lower-than-average rainfall throughout April, but the result was an increase on the previous year.
Camperdown saw 47mm of rainfall over the course of April, which was an increase on the previous year’s total of 18mm in the same month.
However, the figure fell short of the long-term monthly average of 49.2mm in April.
The highest daily rainfall was recorded on April 13, with 15.2mm of rainfall hitting the ground.
To date, Camperdown’s rainfall total for 2026 sits at 122.9mm.
Meanwhile, Lismore saw 36.6mm of rain hitting the ground over the month.
The figure was slightly higher than the April 2025 total of 35.8mm but falls short of the long-term average of 49.8mm.
April 6 saw Lismore’s highest daily rainfall for the month, with 10.8mm recorded over 24 hours.
Lismore’s rainfall tally for 2026 currently sits at 127.4mm.
Derrinallum also saw strong rainfall for April this year, with 40.1mm filling gauges across the area.
The figure, while an increase on last April’s rainfall total of 29.4mm, falls below the long-term April average of 50mm for Derrinallum.
Like Lismore, Derrinallum saw the most rainfall of the month on April 6, with 10.4mm recorded in 24 hours.
Derrinallum’s total rainfall for 2026 is currently 101.7mm.
