Despite the heavy loss, Kolora-Noorat co-coach Sam Uwland was positive.

“Merrivale were really good, but reflecting on our last matchup (a 138 loss in round 17 of 2024), there was great improvement, we definitely matched up better,” Uwland said.

“The small lapses in the game really hurt us.”

The heat also played a part, Uwland noting the Power fatigued faster than normal.

Merrivale forward Dylan Weir dominated, bagging 10 goals.

“He's a very good forward, a strong contested mark and hard to match up on,” Uwland said.

Louis Cahill and Jack Vaughan kicked two goals each, while Oscar Curran, Caleb Kavenagh and Caleb Scanlon were named as the Power's best.

The Power are already looking ahead to their next game against Russells Creek the week after the Easter break.

“We'll be training full on, last year the club took the time off over Easter but this year the group has decided to keep training as normal, as a coach their initiative and keenness is very pleasing.”

In the A grade netball, Kolora-Noorat lost 54 to 31.

The Power had a 35-point win in the reserves, Jack Pekin kicking three goals with Will Mahoney named best player.

A massive 151-point win to the Power in the under 18s was highlighted by seven goals to Oscar Ritchie, with Jack Smerdon, Levi Cootesmith and Sonny Podger named Kolora Noorat's best players.

The Powers under 15s had an 85 point win, with Leo Beasley kicking six goals and Lenny Scanlon fourgoals, both being named among the best.

Merrivale won the under 13s by 74 points, Hamish Messer named the Power’s best.

Merrivale took the points in the A reserve and B grade netball, while the Power won all three junior netball games.
