Full field for Marie Astell Bowl
CAMPERDOWN Golf Club recently hosted its most successful Marie Astell Bowl to date, with a full field of 27 teams.

The teams, representing 16 different clubs, enjoyed a great day of golf – with the event held in memory of Marie, a long-time club member.
It is also a celebration of friendships made through golf.
Once again Charles Astell was on hand to make the presentations.
The gensomes competition is a modified form of stableford for teams of four, with the best two scores to count on each hole.
Despite the damp and windy weather, some excellent scores were recorded.
Locals Liz Fry and Ruth Skene, together with their guests Heather Walcott (Warrnambool) and Larelle McInnes (Lonsdale) won the day with an excellent score of 90 points.
The runners-up on 88 points were Cate Glennon, Karen Mather, Lyn Coxon and Jane Heffernan from the Terang Golf Club.
The team with the best nine out score of 42 was local Jenny Hillman with her guests from Warrnambool, Heather Haberfield, Veronica Madden and Sue Rea.
The best in score of 44 points went to the Beaufort team of Clare Kingston, Carmel Milenkovic, Glenis Keilor and Debbie Stanaway.
All the nearest the pins were claimed – 2nd Deb Narik (Camperdown), 15th Heather Haberfield (Warrnambool), 17th Di Grieves (Port Fairy).
The lucrative golden hole 9th went to Lynne Newton from Timboon.
