Good conditions for vet golfers
CORANGAMITE’S veteran golfers travelled to Lake Bolac last week where they were greeted by perfect playing conditions.
The stableford event was played on a course that was presented in “excellent condition” and was a credit to the club.
The weather was also in the players’ favour, with some strong results recorded – particularly from the Cobden golfers who appreciated the change to a Monday competition rather than the usual Tuesday fixture.
A grade – winner Colin Dobson (Cobden) 43 points, runner-up Bruce McSween (Cobden) 38, third Steve Grinter (Terang) 34 on countback. NAGA Don Hanson (Colac) 19.
B grade – winner Bernie Bourke (Cobden) 36 points, runner-up Bruce Knee (East Framlingham) 34, third Brian Smith (Cobden) 33. NAGA John Miller (Colac) 18.
Nearest the pins: 2nd/11th Daryl Dunford, 8th/17th Peter Devine.
After each event where MiScore is not used, all scorecards must be manually entered in to the Golf Australia Handicap system to ensure handicaps are correctly recorded and updated.
While previously only the final score was required, Golf Australia now requires the full scorecard to be entered on a hole-by-hole basis as recorded on the card.
To assist the handicapper with this process, all players are asked to ensure their scorecards are clearly legible, recorded accurately and cards are checked and signed by both the player and marker before submission.
Upcoming events: East Framlingham – Monday, June 8 (two-person ambrose); Peterborough – Tuesday, June 23 (stableford); Winchelsea – Tuesday, July 21 (stableford).
