Good vibes at Lake Purrumbete
LAKE Purrumbete came alive with country music on Good Friday for the annual Music by the Lake fundraiser.

The fundraiser, which contributes to Camperdown’s Good Friday Appeal, raised around $7400 for the cause.
Organiser and performing artist Ian ‘Bidge’ Boyd said the total, while down on last year’s results of $8900, exceeded his expectations with the rising costs of fuel and cost of living.
“The vibe’s always good,” he said.
“Everyone had a good time.
“We had the dancefloor back this year, which people appreciated.
“The numbers were down.
“The actual residents in the caravan park were down as well – they had a lots of cancellations because of the water level meaning you can’t get boats in, and the diesel crisis affected a few people as well.”
Despite the low numbers, Music by the Lake saw great interest beyond the lake as it featured in the background of a live cross for the televised Good Friday Appeal drive.
Mr Boyd extended his gratitude to everyone involved in the preparation and running of the event.
“We appreciate everyone who supports it and the people who donate items for the auctions and raffles,” he said.
“We genuinely appreciate all the assistance we get and all the support we get from attendees.”
