Players enjoyed the first round of competition with Hockey South West in Warrnambool last weekend.

The under 18 Lakers had a great start to their season, with a 3-all draw against Technique on Friday night.

The side managed to hold Technique to 2-0 for most of the game before Technique slowly clawed back to even the score in the final quarter.

Oliver slotted two of the three goals for Corangamite while his brother Quinn was impressive in goals, making some incredible saves.

Akeisha, filling in from the under 15s, scored an impressive goal, deflecting a ball from high in the air into the goal.

The opposition coach and team manager also commented on this goal after the game saying it was “a ripper”.

Brady won the coaches award with his strong defending.

The under 15s played the Strikers on Saturday afternoon and gave it everything they had but came up short, going down 2-1 in a hard-fought battle.

The effort was there from start to finish, with strong defensive plays and some incredible saves from goalie, Tavish, to keep them in the game.

Isla scored a goal for the side and the team fought hard against a tough opponent, showing resilience and determination that they can all build on for the next game.

Congratulations to Jacob who received the coach’s award.

Anyone interested in joining the 2025 Mod Comp season at Mockridge Park Camperdown is welcome to attend a come and try day on Saturday, April 26.
