TIMBOON Motors helped mark the end of era on Friday.

Local Holden enthusiasts were encouraged to bring in their beloved Holdens to honour the final time Holden would race at Bathurst 1000.

Principal dealer Barry Cook said a barbecue was held on Friday which saw about 20 Holden vehicles and their owners in attendance.

“It went off very well,” he said.

“We had more than 20 old Holden’s ranging from a FJ Holden ute which was back in the 50’s to a Chevy Camaro.

“I didn’t realise there was so many Holdens around.”

Mr Cook said the barbecue was a chance for Holden owners to catch up and have a chat.

“Everyone had a good cat and was bragging about their cars,” he said.

“We’re considering holding another event next year.”
