Batting first, the Pelicans made an impressive 6/346 from 50 overs.

Captain Lachie Green top scored with 88 from 63 balls, including two fours and six sixes.

Opener Simon Baker made 65 from 85 balls, while the innings was finished off with a big hitting unbeaten 83 from 49 balls to Tim Fitzgerald.

Fitzgerald hit three fours and five sixes in his knock.

“We aimed to put a big score on the board,” Green said.

“Our top order gave us a wonderful platform which we really capitalised on.”

Green had special praise for Fitzgerald’s innings.

“Timmy really took them to the cleaners, he hit cleanly and was great to watch.

“The work Simon did early was important, while Paddy Baker really played his role (46 from 44 balls) with some really nice, genuine cricket shots.”

Ecklin offered little resistance in reply, all out for 74 in just the 19th over.

Opening bowlers Fitzgerald and Charlie Lucas bowled unchanged to run through the Frogs with five wickets each.

Fitzgerald took 5/24 from 9.2 overs, while Lucas claimed 5/45 from nine.

‘I’m not sure I’ve played when two bowlers have both taken five, we’re thinking we are going to have to cut the ball in half for them,” Green laughed.

“Charlie bowled his overs into a very strong wind, he bowled very well in difficult conditions.”

Lucas claimed the wickets of Ecklin danger men Harry Carter and Jamie Dewell.

“To get Dewell out for a duck and Carter out cheaply was absolutely massive.

“We were right on top from that then on.”

Bookaar now sits in a good position with three wins out of four games.

“It was nice to get another win, we have a tough game against Alvie this week then the bye.

“It’s been important to string some wins together in this block of games.”
