Ladies fundraiser surpasses $2000
A STRONG crowd of ladies enjoyed a night of socialisation and learning at last Saturday’s annual Ladies’ Day event.

This year’s event raised funds to support Lifeline, with $2059 going towards the national support line.
Camperdown Football Netball Club co-president Caitlyn Fitzgerald said around 80 women were in attendance on the day, which proved to be a lovely event.
“We had guest speaker Lizz Kelly speak to us on the important of reaching out for support, breaking down the stigma around mental health and how we can access services such as Lifeline,” she said.
“We shared information with guests about how to access Lifeline and the services they provide.
“We just spent the day celebrating each other and the community.
“We enjoyed the company of each other.
“It was, being the first round of football, a bit hard to pull together but we’re still really pleased with the turnout and the positive feel of the room.”

Among the popular activities was a hair demonstration delivered by Kirby Stonehouse.
Ms Fitzgerald said all attendees enjoyed the event.
“We were able to expose some local businesses, which was great – we had four businesses run by women come in and run stalls.
“People could go and chat to them about what they do and how they operate as local business owners.
“It’s not just about football as such, but about giving back to the local community.
“Any charity is happy to take anything at the moment – the cost-of-living is such a consideration for a lot of people.”
Ms Fitzgerald said she hoped attendees all took away more understanding and knowledge about Lifeline and the services available.
