Andrea Townsend moved to the Camperdown area three and a half years ago.

Since arriving, she was inspired to create a variety of watercolour, ink and acrylic artworks featuring the natural aspects of the Corangamite Shire.

“I’m loving the western district,” Ms Townsend said.

“It’s mostly things from nature – trees and the mountains and lakes of the district.

“I’ve got few collages – they’re not particularly inspired by this area.

“It’s mostly about the area.”

Ms Townsend said she was hoping to share her love of her new home with the community while the exhibition remains up for the rest of May.

“I want to bring nature to everyone’s attention because we really need to look after it and the native animals,” she said.

“They really need our help at this time.

“It’s my first exhibition.

“I’m also a volunteer here, so I feel very welcomed by the place and all the wonderful volunteers who work here.

“It’s an honour, really.”

Residents can view the exhibition until the end of the month at 179 Manifold Street.
