Lucas named Bookaar’s Cricketer of the Year

PROCEEDINGS were dominated by a handful of players when Bookaar Cricket Club held its presentation day on Sunday.

Fraser Lucas, winner of the wider association’s Cricketer of the Year, took out his club’s division one Cricketer of the Year award, along with the batting aggregate, bowling aggregate, and best finals player award.

Wilba Cheeseman also took home a raft of awards, winning both the division three and under 16s Cricketer of the Year, as well as the Paul Fitzgerald Memorial award among his nine honours for the day.

Heidi Stansfield dominated among the women collecting the women’s youth bowling aggregate, best finals player and premiership coach awards, while Tracey Baker was named Cricketer of the Year.

Brian Cunningham was only the ninth person to be inducted as a life member of the club for his long career and tireless work behind the scenes for the club.

Cricketer of the Year (Simon Baker medal) – Wilba Cheeseman
