WINTER rainfall figures were a mixed bag across Cobden and district.

WINTER rainfall figures were a mixed bag across Cobden and district.
It was a cold and wet start to winter for many towns across the south west.
Cobden saw 122.2mm of rain fall throughout June, well above the long-term average of 82.3mm.
The highest daily rainfall figure was 22.6mm of rain on June 7.
There might have been plenty of water around, but July was actually below the long-term average rainfall figures.
Cobden and surrounds saw 83.8mm throughout July.
The long-term average for Cobden’s rainfall in July is 92.8mm.
The highest daily rainfall was 16.4mm which fell on July 28.
August was the wettest month of the season, with 106.8mm ofrain falling.
Historically, the long-term average for the month was 101.9mm.
August 16 saw the highest daily rainfall for the month, with 19mm of rain hitting the ground.
Throughout winter, 312.8mm of rain fell over Cobden and surrounds, bringing the total to date for the year to 565mm.
For the same time last year, the region saw 298.2mm of rain hit the ground throughout winter and 617mm for the year until the end of winter.
