Music trivia this weekend
RESIDENTS are being invited to test their music knowledge for a good cause this weekend.
A RockQuiz will be hosted at the Hampden Hotel (228 Manifold Street) as part of fundraising efforts to support Darryl Eldred’s family.
As Western District Newspapers reported last month, Mr Eldred was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia – a cancer which affects the blood and bone marrow – and has been forced to close his one-man business as he faces treatment.
Hampden Hotel proprietor Simon Myers said he was thrilled to be able to support the event, which is being run by Rosie Pemberton and his band Stage-Fright, with 40 seats already booked.
“We’ve got a RockQuiz coming up on Sunday, June 21,” Mr Myers said.
“It starts at 2.30-5.30pm.
“It’s a fundraiser for a local member of the community who’s going through a health battle.
“There are still some tables available.
“Get a group together and head to the Hampden Hotel for an afternoon of RockQuiz and live music.”
