Passenger trapped

Cobden Police Leading Senior Constable Rachel Wass said the incident was the result of one vehicle failing to give way.

“A Toyota Camry travelling north on Adams Street failed to give way to a Toyota Hilux travelling east on Parrot Street, causing the hilux to hit a pillar at the front of the camry and trapping the passenger in the vehicle,” she said.

“SES was on scene to extract the passenger.

“Both drivers were okay; it was just the passenger that was injured.”

Ldg Snr Const Wass said the driver of the Toyota Camry which failed to give way at the intersection will receive an infringement notice.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said paramedics responded to reports of a collision in Cobden at 6.55am.

“Two people were assessed at the scene,” the spokesperson said.

“One female was transported by road ambulance to Warrnambool Public Hospital with upper body injuries in a stable condition.”
