Pelicans win inaugural women's premiership
BOOKAAR has claimed the very first South West Cricket women’s division premiership.

The Pelicans, who finished on top of the league ladder at the end of the home and away round, topped off what was a successful inaugural season, to take home the flag in front of a strong crowd at Ecklin Recreation Reserve on Wednesday night.
Earlier in the night, the Pelicans won the toss and elected to bat, reaching an impressive 3/157 in 20 overs.
Opener Heidi Stansfield got the side off to a strong start, retiring on 30 from 23 deliveries in an innings that included four boundaries.
Team-mate Kayla Hooper also retired unbeaten on 30 after smashing five boundaries, while Tracey Baker (31ret) pushed five boundaries during her time at the crease.
Other contributors to the scoreboard for the Pelicans included Breeana Daffy on 22, Pru Luker (15) and Audrey Ringe (12).
Arabella McDonald and Erin Hassett were both unbeaten on one at the end of the innings.
In reply, the Knights were restricted to 7/89 in their 20 overs, with Kelsey Fratantaro (30 not out) the side’s top scorer.
Best of the bowlers for Bookaar were Charlotte Hinds 2/8 and Pru Luker 2/16.
Other wickets fell for Audrey Ringe 1/19 and Arabella McDonald 1/8.
To accompany her premiership medallion, Luker was also presented the Player of the Match award.
