Phase 1B vaccinations begin in Terang
TERANG Medical Clinic began administering COVID-19 vaccinations this week as part of the Phase 1B rollout.

TERANG Medical Clinic began administering COVID-19 vaccinations this week as part of the Phase 1B rollout.
Dr Tim Fitzpatrick, who was among the first locals to receive the jab at the clinic on Monday, said he welcomed the opportunity to roll up his sleeve.
“I feel it is a very safe and effective vaccine,” he said.
Phase 1B of the vaccination rollout includes healthcare workers, critical and high risk workers, people aged over 70 and 80 years, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people over 55 years, and people aged over 18 with an underlying medical condition, including disability.
Terang Medical Clinic was among more than 1000 general practices to join the COVID-19 vaccination program from this week.
Member for Wannon Dan Tehan said the program would ensure an efficient and equitable distribution of vaccines across the country.
“We all know the invaluable work our local GP’s do for our community, and now we will see them play a vital role the COVID-19 vaccine rollout,” he said.
“Phase 1B of the rollout will see 1000 GP’s across Australia delivering COVID-19 vaccines for our elderly and immunocompromised, progressively increasing in number to more than 4000 by the end of April.
Mr Tehan said those eligible for vaccinations during phase 1B would be able to find a vaccination provider through the new national vaccination information and location service at the Department of Health website.
“This will enable people to locate their nearest general practice providing General Practice Respiratory Clinic vaccinations and link through to their online booking system or phone number to make the appointment,”he said.
“Vaccines are the game changer in our fight against the COVID-19 virus and I urge everyone in Australia to come forward and get vaccinated when they are able to.
“It will protect themselves, their family, and their community.”
