Police seeking court vandal
POLICE are seeking information following vandalism at the Camperdown Football Netball Club courts.

Camperdown Police Acting Senior Sergeant Andrew Raven said damage to the seats at the netball courts at 15 Adeney Street was noticed on Wednesday, February 25 at around 7.30am.
“We urge anyone to contact police with information if they noticed anything suspicious between Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning,” he said.
Leura Oval Committee of Management president Kevin Russell said he has been left disappointed after the incident.
“Whether it was an accident or on purpose, no-one’s reported it or come forward to say it happened,” he said.
“It, to me, looks like someone’s got their car bumper bar hooked on it and driven off and ripped the seat back.
“It’s disappointing when people do things like this in public areas.
“If someone has done it, could they just please notify somebody so we can get it fixed.
“They’re pretty expensive, those seats – it’s going to cost a fair bit of money, and the Leura Oval Committee of Management doesn’t have a lot of money.”
Mr Russell said the committee will have two choices – either to try and fix the seat or rip the seat out entirely, which will result in less seating at the netball court.
“It wasn’t done when the netballers were training – I asked some of the netball coordinators, and they said it wasn’t done when they left there,” he said.
“We’ve been putting a chain up at the gate at night-time to try and stop people driving in there – people haven’t caused any damage in there, but we just don’t want people driving in there all the time.
“There have been cars going in, doing wheelies and throwing gravel around.
“It’s happened when the chain wasn’t up.”
Act Snr Sgt Raven encouraged anyone with CCTV footage or knowledge of the incident to notify police or contact Crimestoppers.
The Camperdown Police Station can be contacted by phoning 5593 1000 or by visiting the station at 49 Fergusson St.
