BOOKAAR’S female cricketers have brought home the Colac and District premiership cup for the second consecutive season.

The Pelicans capped off a stellar season with a hard-fought win over Pomborneit Gold.

Openers Pru Luker and Tracey Baker led the way for the side, with Luker making an unbeaten 31 runs while Baker also retired on 30.

The pair smashed seven boundaries between them, contributing to their side’s 2/78 while containing Pomborneit to just 77 runs.

Heidi Stansfield dominated with the ball, taking 3/8 from just three overs to be named the most valuable player.

Last weekend’s premiership was the icing on the cake for the Pelicans, who also dominated at the league’s annual presentation night.

Talented all-rounder Audrey Ringe cleaned up the awards, taking home the best and fairest trophy, along with the bowling aggregate (21 wickets), batting aggregate (220 runs) and the under 18 representative Player of the Year title.

Ringe was also named in the Colac and District’s Player of the Year side, along with Pelicans’ team-mates Tracey Baker (named captain) and Piper Stephens.
