Two of the six shows over the last fortnight were sold out, with first-time director Madidi McKenzie saying the production was “wonderful”.

Just over 900 tickets were sold over the six shows.

“It went wonderfully – I’m very happy with how it went,” she said.

“It was so exhilarating when opening night finally hit because we have been working for a couple of months – we have been rehearsing two times a week since February, so it was just so exciting to finally have an audience who were reacting to the jokes, the costumes and the sets because everything just looked incredible.

“It was all so exciting – opening night was just a full circle moment because I was finally able to see it all coming together.

“The actors, the crew, front-of-house, lighting, costumes and sets – everything was just ready to go, and it was just the best.

“It was an experience I’ve never felt before, but it was really good.”

Ms McKenzie expressed her gratitude to everyone who worked both onstage and behind the scenes to bring the show together.

“The biggest thank you because there were so many people who put in work and their time to help create sets, props, costumes, lighting and sets – the actors themselves put in countless hours putting lines together and working out blocking,” she said.

“It’s funny how many people do come together, and it really does take a village for everyone to come together and pull off a show – there’s also the people at the front of the house making sure the audience members can find their seats.

“It was really great to have seen the good response – everyone has been saying they loved having a bit of a laugh.

“The last show, we had two shows in one day, and due to unforeseen circumstances, someone had to step into a role – that showcased how much support the Camperdown Theatre Company has for each other.

“We are all able to make things work, which was just incredible – it’s an incredible group of people to be able to put it on, and we had the best fun doing it.”

Strong support: Over 900 tickets were sold for the production, which brought the classic board game Cluedo to life.
