A KEY upgrade at the Lismore Men’s Shed has been completed recently.
A conversion of the former shed toilet has allowed for disabled access.
Shed president Jim Anderson said members had planned to double the size of the area, install a wider entrance, replace the fixtures and fittings as well as repainting the space.
He thanked Corangamite Shire Council building inspector Darren Frost for his support in putting together an appropriate plan and obtaining all necessary permits.
Mr Anderson said Gary Poole from Poole Plumbing contacted E and S Trading, which led to a joint donation from E and S Trading and Caroma for all the fixtures and fittings required for the project.
He said Lismore Men’s Shed members built the new door and painted the area.
“Because of the support from Darren Frost, the Corangamite Shire, local trades, Rob Sinclair of E and S Trading, Caroma Australia, Bunnings, and the Lismore and Derrinallum communities we have been able to make this improvement to our facility,” Mr Anderson said.
E and S Trading managing director Rob Sinclair said he was pleased to help the project with a donation of Caroma products for the new access toilet”.
He said he appreciates all of the “hard work and projects undertaken by the group”.
