Rainfall below average

AUTUMN proved to be a mixed bag rainfall wise across Cobden and surrounds.

Throughout March, just five millimeters of rain fell over Cobden and surrounds, well down on the long-term average of 48.3mm

The wettest day of the month was on March 20, which saw a total of 2.2mm fall in the 24 hour period.

Almost half of April’s rainfall total fell in just 24 hours over Cobden and surrounds.

On April 2 a short and sharp storm saw 30mm of rain dumped in a short time frame.

Across all of April a total of 71mm of rain fell for the month, slightly above the long-term average of 66.4mm

May proved significantly drier with just 21.6mm falling, well down on the long-term average of 81.9mm.

The highest daily rainfall was 6mm which was recorded on May 20.

So far this year a total of 158.2mm of rain has fallen over Cobden and surrounds.
