RECENT heavy rains have impacted on local roads, including a section of the Cobden-Port Campbell Road near Cobden.
Department of Transport regional director Barwon South West Michael Tudball said the heavy rainfall had “severely impactedrecent works”.
Sections have large holes where the bitumen has come away from the concrete kerbing as well as a section which has fallen away from the roadside.
“Our geotechnical engineers are developing a plan for how we can safely and efficiently repair the damage,” Mr Tudball said.
Repairs on this section of Cobden-Port Campbell Road are expected to begin once the weather is drier and warmer and construction conditions are more favourable.
There is a north bound lane closure in place at this location, with a reduced speed limit of 40km/h and traffic management allowing one direction of traffic to pass through at a time.
Drivers are asked to observe road signs and take extra care when travelling throughthe area.
