Roadworks to commence
TRANSPORT Victoria is delivering landslip geotechnical works at key locations along the Great Ocean road and inland routes, which includes the Cobden-Port Campbell Road and Timboon-Port Campbell Road.
These works are to protect the longevity of the natural roadside landscape and improve safety for all road users.
The Victorian Government has invested $255 million to the Great Ocean Road and its inland routes.
This includes $115 million to upgrade inland routes between the Great Ocean Road and the Princes Highway, which are vital connections for tourism, freight and local communities.
Works started on the Cobden-Port Campbell Road, approximately eight kilometres south of Cobden between Dingleys Road and Digneys Bridge Road, on Monday, April 13 and are predicted to take approximately seven months.
“We’re delivering landslip geotechnical works on Cobden-Port Campbell Road to protect the longevity of the natural roadside landscape and improve safety for all road users,” executive director Barwon South West and Grampians Department of Transport and Planning Michael Bailey said.
“Traffic management remains in place at the site, and we ask motorists to take care and follow signage in the area.”

Works on the Timboon-Port Campbell Road, approximately eight kilometres south east of Timboon between Wild Dog Road and Cobden-Port Campbell Road, are predicted to take approximately four months.
While the works are underway, there will be disruptions, so Transport Victoria is asking road users to look out for signs and allow for extra time when travelling through the area.
Crews will be on site from Monday to Friday, between 7am and 6pm, with the possibility of weekend work.
Dates and times are subject to change due to site and weather conditions.
Work sites may include single lane closures with traffic management in place, reduced speed limits to ensure the safety of crews and all road users, temporary traffic lights and electronic message signs and traffic management crews to help road users move through the area while important works are completed.
The project includes earthworks, site reconstruction, new retaining walls, pavement works and barrier installation.
