Rotary calls for community nominations
THE Rotary Club of Terang has called for nominations to recognise the dedicated efforts of those who enrich their community.
Each year the club hosts awards to ensure the positive contributions to the wider community are recognised.
The club historically recognises those who make a difference through their career in businesses, their leadership as part of clubs and community groups or even those making a difference in their own, unique way.
This year the club is taking nominations across three categories; Young Achiever Award, Customer Service Award and an Excellence Award.
Rotary Club of Terang member Wayne Reicha put out a call for nominations from across the district.
“We like to recognise people in the township who make this community as special as it is,” he said.
“Our awards have been going many, many years.
“It’s good to recognise those who are going around quietly, to show them we appreciate them and what they do.
“We like to let them know that people do notice.”
Mr Reicha said all were encouraged to nominate as the club purposefully keeps the selection criteria broad to ensure anyone can be nominated.
“It’s not limited, we’re open to recognition for anyone who others feel deserves to be recognised,” he said.
“Anyone who has shown a commitment to the town and district can be nominated based on their effort over the past 12 months.
“There are many, many people across the district who are deserving of recognition, so we want to keep it open so anyone feels they can nominate someone they believe is deserving of an award.”
Those wanting to nominate someone can contact Mr Reicha on 0429 921 091 to provide the name of the nominee and details on all the wonderful work they’ve done.
Nominations will close at the end of February and the Rotary Club of Terang will hold presentations in March.
