Rotary congratulates recipients

ROTARY Club of Cobden members congratulated locals on receiving accolades for their volunteering.
Club member Gary Kimber said the Cobden Rotary Club nominated Cameron Beaton and Les Sumner for their outstanding volunteering and community service to Member for Wannon Dan Tehan for the annual Excellence in Volunteering program.
“Both received certificates from Dan,” he said.
“Cameron has been an outstanding administrator for the Cobden Cricket Club, Cobden Recreation Reserve Committee and Cobden Football/Netball Club for nearly 20 years.
“Cam is a very well respected person in the town and is highly deserving of this award.”
Mr Kimber said Mr Sumner has been a volunteer for 60 years with service to the Cobden CFA, St John’s Ambulance, Cobden Football Netball Club as a trainer, the Hampden Football Netball League and more.
“An unbelievable record of volunteering and without doubt a very worthy recipient of Dan’s award,” he said.
