Second quarter lapse proves costly
DESPITE winning three of four quarters for the day, the Timboon Demons had a 32-point loss to Panmure in the round two Warrnambool and District senior football match on Saturday.
A seven goal to none second quarter in favour of the home team was crucial in the 15.5.95 to 8.15.63 loss at the Panmure Recreation Reserve.
Oscar Norman, Tarkyn Love and Ben Newey were best for the Demons in the loss, with both Norman and Love kicking three goals each.
This week the Demons host the undefeated Old Collegians at the Timboon Recreation Reserve.
In the reserves football, Timboon had a 39-point win, 10.5.65 to 3.8.26.
Jake Robbins and Luke Smith kicked three goals each, with Campbell McKenzie, Ben Matthews and Luke Gledhill named as best.
With Panmure not fielding under 18.5 and under 16 teams in 2026, the under 18.5 Demons had the week off, with the under 16 team playing Old Collegians at Davidson Oval.
Collegians were too strong, scoring a 5.12.42 to 1.1.7 win.
Alby Jones, Ned Mackieson and William Plozza were best for the under 16 Demons in the loss.
Timboon had a one point win over Panmure in the under 13.5 football, 4.5.29 to 4.4.28
Leo Makin, Jake McNeill and Harry Kuhl were best for the junior Demons, with captain Rory Hollick kicking two goals.

Timboon got the win in the A reserve game, 41-40.
Aysha Hollick, Hannah Maxwell and Giaan Gration were best for the Demons, with Maxwell scoring 22 goals and Hollick 20.
The B grade game saw a 45-31 win for the Demons.
Sarah Brown and Jacqui Hanegraaf were best for Timboon, with Brown scoring 35 goals.
Timboon scored a 44-13 win in the 17 and under netball.
Best for the Demons were Ruby Jones, Stella Smith and Jasmine Plozza, with Ella Drayton scoring 22 goals and Jasmine Plozza 18.
The 15 and under game saw Timboon enjoy a strong 41-8 win.
Aysha Hollick, Emily McLennan and Ellen Whiting were best for the Demons, with Hollick shooting 24 goals.
The 13 and under netball saw Timboon celebrate a 35-6 win.
Thea Whitehead, Elise Nicholls and Elizabeth Plozza were best for the Demons, with Grace Richardson scoring 17 goals and Plozza 13.
Timboon had a 21-3 win in the 11 and under game.
Best for the Demons were Eva Watson, Emily Stephens and Lexi Collins, with Gretel Hollick scoring 12 goals.
