Share a cuppa for a cause
THE Cobden community is invited to come together for a morning of connection, conversation and fundraising when Progressing Cobden and Jenny Bongers hosts Cobden’s Biggest Morning Tea on Thursday, June 18.
The event will be held from 10am to 12noon at Heytesbury House, 33 Parrott Street, Cobden, with all profits donated to the Cancer Council through Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.
Guests can enjoy a delicious homemade morning tea, tea and coffee, raffles, fundraising activities and the opportunity to contribute to a special Community Memory Tree.
Progressing Cobden president Misty Angus said the event was about bringing people together while supporting an important cause which touches many local families.
“Cancer affects almost every community, including our own,” she said.
“This event is a chance for people to catch up with friends, meet new faces, share a cuppa and help make a real difference to Australians impacted by cancer.”
For those unable to attend, local businesses can support the fundraiser by pre-ordering morning tea platters for $25, yoyo bags for $5, snack plates for $10 and posies of flowers for $25.
Orders can be arranged through Progressing Cobden prior to the event.
“Every cup of tea, every raffle ticket and every order helps support cancer research, prevention programs and support services for Australians affected by cancer,” Mrs Angus said.
“We encourage everyone to come along, enjoy a morning with friends and help us raise as much as possible for this important cause.”
Community members are encouraged to bring a friend, grab a seat and help make a difference.
All profits from the event will be donated to the Cancer Council.
