Showdown awaits 2022 Table Tennis Grand Final

THREE and a Half Men will clash with the Bloods to contest the 2022 Table Tennis Grand Final after each team claimed victory in their respective semi-final matches.

THREE and a Half Men will clash with the Bloods to contest the 2022 Table Tennis Grand Final after each team claimed victory in their respective semi-final matches.

Victory was achieved once a team reached seven rubbers, which Three and a Half Men reached in with a final score of 7-2.

The match started with the 1&2 doubles and the 3&4 doubles matches. Each team won one, but from then on the match became a one way street for the victors.

Three and a Half Men surged with a huge turn up as Brett McSween defeated son Callum in six games 11-7, 11-5, 7-11, 10-12, 12-10, 11-7. This would have been Brett’s first victory against Callum for many years.

Charlie Kenna defeated Alex Rochfort in four games, as did Sam Heffernan against Keegan Brandrup.

Charlie continued his winning way defeating Keegan Brandrup and then the higher ranked Tyler Smith in four games. Sam Heffernan defeated Alex Rochfort in four games.

To wrap up the night in a surprising result, Pat Nicholson also defeated Callum McSween in straight games.

The Bloods earned their spot in the Grand Final with a 7-3 of the Dreamers.

The semi-final showdown was much closer than the scoreline indicated. After the two doubles matches, Bloods were 2-0 up have won one in four games and the other in five.

Tony Young defeated Daryl Burns in six games, Vesha Chapagain defeated Dan Galea in five games, Ganga Ayral defeated Mohan Bam in four games.

Dreamers Ian Rochfort put his side on the board defeating Max Heffernan in four games.

Dreamers then won the next two rubbers with Daryl defeating Vesha in three games and Mohan likewise winning in straight games against Max.

The comeback was halted however when the Bloods won the next three rubbers with Tony defeating Dan in four games, Vesha defeating Mohan in three games and Ganga winning the match of the night against Ian in five hard fought games, 11-8, 9-11, 12-14, 11-9, 13-11.
