South Rovers too strong

TIMBOON had a 39 point loss to the much improved South Rovers in the round nine Warrnambool and District senior football match on Saturday.

The Rovers outscored the Demons in every quarter to record a 17.7.109 to 10.10.70 win at the Walter Oval.

Best for the Demons in the loss were Ben Newey, Liam Loubey, Johno Benallack, Angus Hill, Benjamin Saunders and William Benallack.

Loubey, a former Colac and Alvie player, was on debut for the Demons, while Johno Benallack returned for his first game of the season.

Bayley Thompson led the Demons goal kickers with three, with Ben Saunders kicking two.

This Saturday the sixth placed Demons play fifth placed Merrivale at the Merrivale Recreation Reserve.

In the reserves, Timboon had a strong 40 point win, 10.8.68 to 4.4.28.

Ben Matthews, Eben White and Ned Deppeler were best for the Demons, with White bagging seven goals.

Timboon’s under 18.5 team had a 35 point loss, 10.9.69 to 5.4.34.

Joshua McKenzie, Jalen Berry and Toby Gale were best for the Demons, with Berry, Thomas Ryan, Caius Cuthell, Logan Lyne and captain Jhyce Bartlett kicking a goal each.

The under 16 game saw Timboon record a 5.6.36 to 4.1.25 win.

Lachlan Doolan, Kaspar Hendrix and Joseph Hider were best for the Demons.

In the under 13.5 game, South Rovers had a 4.5.29 to 2.2.14 win.

Baylie Turner, Harry Kuhl, Rique Vince Alexander Montalbo, Malakye Benson, Olly Dickinson and Harry Salmon were best for the junior Demons, with Turner and Rory Hollick kicking a goal each.

In the A grade netball, Timboon held on to record a 57-55 win.

Tash Hallyburton, Holly Kordupel and Brianna Gass were the best for the Demons, with Gass shooting 29 goals and Rosolin shooting 27.

The A reserve game saw Timboon score a 37-31 win.

Zalia Hanegraaf, Giaan Gration and Isabelle Moorhead were the Demons best, with Macy Gale shooting 16 goals and Hannah Maxwell 14.

South Rovers scored a 30-28 win in the B grade netball.

Tarsha Duro, Nicole Burvill and Rachel Newey were best for Timboon, with Sarah Brown shooting 11 goals.

The 17 and under netball saw Timboon get the points with a 38-28 win.

Best for Timboon were Stella Smith, Meg Duro and Ella Drayton, with Drayton and Jasmine Plozza scoring 13 goals each.

Timboon had a 34-15 win in the 15 and under game.

Emily McLennan, Ellen Whiting and Sidney Champion were the Demons best, with Indii McKenzie scoring 20 goals and Aysha Hollick and Imogen Woods seven each.

The 13 and under game saw Timboon have a strong 36-6 win.

Best for the Demons were Grace Richardson, Elizabeth Plozza and Elise Nicholls, with Richardson shooting 25 goals and Annabel Doolan nine.

Timboon had a big 31-0 win in the 11 and under game.

Gretel Hollick, Katie Collins and Eva Watson were best for the junior Demons, with Hollick shooting 15 goals and Eva Watson six.
