Stableford at Cobden
THIRTY-FOUR players competed in a stableford round at the Cobden Golf Club last Saturday.
D. Stewart won A grade with 40 points, closely followed by G. Rix on 39.
B grade was won by L. Robertson on 47, with K. Daffy the runner-up on 36.
Balls down the line went to D. Absalom, A. Holster, A. Couch, J. Mason, G. Byrne and C. Sargeant.
Dave Stewart eagled the par five, third hole, winning the McQuinn Plumbing eagles nest.
Nearest the pins: 4th D. Beard, 7th and 10th C. Sargeant, closest second on the 2nd was S. Mason and closest on the 14th J. Beard.
This weekend will be rounds one and two of the club championships.
Twelve players competed in the ladies golf championships this year.
The winner of the first round was Carmel Darcy with 71 nett followed by Ellen Darcy on 73.
Nearest the pins: A grade – 4th and 10th Sherine Healey; B grade – 4th Chloe Healey, 10th Pat Tickner; C grade – 4th and 10h Ev Boyd; 7th Ellen Darcy; second shot on the 8th (A grade) Carmel Darcy.
Balls down the line went to Sherine Healey (75).
