Strong crowds bolster a successful Vintage Rally
VINTAGE enthusiasts from across the south west flocked to Cobden to attend the Cobden Annual Vintage Rally last weekend, braving the heat to enjoy a day out with family and friends.

Hosted by South Western District Restoration Group, the vintage rally is held every year and is always a hit with fans of old machinery, homewares, and various knick-knacks.
Hundreds of items were on display including model boats, steam engines, a vintage tractor pull, and shed displays full of personal collections.
The event also celebrated 80 years since the E27N Fordson tractor was introduced to Australia.
South Western District Restoration Group president Brian Cockayne said the beloved annual event saw a great turnout.
“We wanted to have this event because it’s 80 years of production of the E27N Fordson,” he said.
“They started making them in 1945, so we thought we’ll feature them this year.
“We were hoping to get 80, I think we’re up to around about 55 or something so we’re a bit short, but there’s not a lot of them around.”
Mr Cockayne said the rally was ramping up to be a success.
“Considering it was going to be hot, people were still coming, so it’s really good,” he said.
“We had an auction and everything sold bar a couple of things – we had 290 items – and I think we only passed on about three of them.
“Compared to previous years, this is about as good as it gets – it’s a good turnout.”
